The West Australian artist Lianne Gough has won the $15,000 Gallipoli Art Prize.
The prize is awarded annually to an Australian artist who best captures the spirit of the Gallipoli campaign.
Gough says her work is a montage of the faces of Australian diggers about to go to war, and captures the emotions inspired by war.
"Some are so scared, and some are so manly and brave, and some are humorous, all sorts of things," she said.
"I don't tell that story, they do."
